Another great conversation on Marc Maron’s podcast today; Dweezil Zappa.
Dweezil obviously inherited his musical talent and sense of humour and empathy and intelligence from Frank. I know it’s a cliche, but “chip off the old block” fits here. A great listen for fans of Zappa, and of guitar in general. Dweezil sounds like a really down to earth guy, and a genuinely nice guy.
I tacked on a video below of “Zappa plays Zappa” featuring some guitar insanity from Steve Vai, who got his first shot at the big leagues from Frank.
All along, all I’ve really wanted to be is a writer. So now I tell people that’s what I am, even though I haven’t earned a dime being a writer.
That being said, I’ll confess that once a day, every day, I wish I was still a musician. That was the one time in my life when I was cool.
