Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending a once-in-a-lifetime event at the National Music Centre. This week I’m featuring the artists I saw perform in a tiny club named The King Eddy (capacity 150 people).
High Road Easy is by far my favourite Sass track. It’s funky and it swings, but it’s still a kickass rocker. She has such power and feel all through her entire vocal range, yet still manages to maintain that gravelly whiskey voice that I love so much. Sass Jordan is absolutely on my top 10 list of favourite rock vocalists. If that wasn’t enough, Stevie Salas rips this song to shreds. He’s a criminally underrated musician.
Bonus track is Sass guesting with the Foo Fighters in Toronto a couple of years ago.
All along, all I’ve really wanted to be is a writer. So now I tell people that’s what I am, even though I haven’t earned a dime being a writer.
That being said, I’ll confess that once a day, every day, I wish I was still a musician. That was the one time in my life when I was cool.
