I’ll end Robert Burns Day with this final post, wholly inspired by my cohort, Mr. Brass.
My good friend shared with me the story of Bill Millin, who bravely piped the soldiers onto the beach on D-Day. Music as a weapon is a concept that I’m very fond of and wholeheartedly endorse.
As a bonus, the second video below is a hard rock tribute to Piper Bill which appropriately features bagpipes, but also A BANJO! There’s no way that can be bad music. I love pipes, and I love banjos, and I love being Scottish, and I love music.

All along, all I’ve really wanted to be is a writer. So now I tell people that’s what I am, even though I haven’t earned a dime being a writer.
That being said, I’ll confess that once a day, every day, I wish I was still a musician. That was the one time in my life when I was cool.
